Tiger's Milk

In October 2021, the Tiger's Milk restaurant and bar opened its doors in Bedfordview, Johannesburg. The restaurant is part of the South African Life & Brand portfolio and offers its customers authentic cuisine with pizza, burgers and barbecue on the menu, as well as a wide selection of beers.

The hotel collaborated with Output AV for designing the installation. South African integrator K2 Innovate then provided the restaurant and bar with a zoned audio solution for background music playback throughout the entire venue. Besides the sound quality, the aesthetics also mattered, and the audio systems had to harmonize with the characteristic black interior of Tiger's Milk. Thanks to the solid reliability and easy installation and operation of the AUDAC systems, everything could be completed in a short period of time.

The installation consists of an 8-zone MTX88 audio matrix that provides source selection and level control for seven designated audio zones. Among these zones are four main areas with seating, a bar, an outdoor area and toilets.

AUDAC's stylish ATEO speakers, with their innovative CleverMount wall-mounting technology, have been specified for the bar and seating areas, complemented by WX502 universal wall-mounted speakers. These ATEO wall speakers are a dream for installers since elegance is combined with functionality. Its discreet design fits the idea of the restaurant that values aesthetics.

In the outdoor area, six Audac WX502-O weatherproof speakers and five AWP06/W - SpringFit™ Waterproof ceiling loudspeaker were used. These loudspeakers are designed to perform optimally in outdoor environments and to be resistant to extreme weather conditions.  The toilet area is equipped with CENA706 ceiling speakers that create an atmospheric ambience and remain as visually unobtrusive as possible thanks to their borderless grill design. The remote control of the different sound areas is done via the Audac Touch app, which allows restaurant staff to control the levels from their mobile phones.

The whole sound system is powered by a variation of CAP224, CAP424, EPA502 and EPA254 power amplifiers.
