Carrefour Laval in Montreal, Canada is a major shopping mall where retail, dining, and leisure come together in a vibrant setting. Within one of its most visually distinctive areas, a unique concept was introduced to elevate the space beyond its purely visual appeal. The goal was to create an immersive, nature-inspired audio experience that enhances the atmosphere and subtly influences how visitors perceive and move through the environment.
Delivered in collaboration with distributor AVL Media Group, the installation was designed as an integral part of the space rather than a standalone technical addition. The audio system blends seamlessly with the surrounding greenery and architectural elements, contributing to a cohesive environment where sound, design, and movement come together naturally.
At the core of the system lies the LUNA-F audio matrix processor, enabling flexible audio distribution and precise control over the soundscape. This allows carefully curated audio content to be deployed consistently throughout the area, supporting the immersive concept while maintaining overall balance and clarity.
Amplification is handled by SMQ750 WaveDynamics™ power amplifiers, ensuring reliable performance and sufficient headroom to reproduce both subtle ambient layers and more expressive sound elements with precision.
A strategic combination of VEXO208, VIRO5, ATEO4, and ARCHI10X loudspeakers creates a layered and spatially rich sound field. VEXO208 loudspeakers provide a powerful and detailed full-range foundation, while ATEO and ARCHI series models are discreetly integrated into the environment, reinforcing a natural and unobtrusive sound presence. VIRO5 loudspeakers add directional detail and spatial definition, enhancing the sense of movement and immersion throughout the space.
