BaseCamp Student is a contemporary student housing concept where community living, shared experiences, and multifunctional spaces are central to daily life. Delivered in collaboration with distributor VIDIS SA, the project involved equipping two separate buildings with a fully integrated audio solution that enhances both social interaction and relaxation. Rather than simply installing loudspeakers, the objective was to create a flexible and intuitive sound environment tailored to the unique character of each space within the complex.
The first building, housing the reception and restaurant areas, required an audio system that combined performance with aesthetic integration. The industrial interior design called for loudspeakers that would complement the architecture while delivering clear and balanced background music. ALTI series pendant loudspeakers were selected for their contemporary design and wide dispersion characteristics, ensuring even coverage across two independent zones. Powered by CAP series amplifiers and centrally managed through the M2 audio matrix, the system provides reliable zone control and precise signal routing.
User interaction was a key focus in this building. Strategically positioned DW5066 wall control panels offer straightforward access to volume and source selection, while integration with the AUDAC Touch™ control platform allows staff to manage the system via tablet or smart device. Music playback is handled by the XMP44 modular audio system, equipped with SourceCon™ modules such as NMP40 and DMP40, providing access to streaming services, FM/DAB+ radio, and digital media. This combination ensures maximum flexibility and effortless operation in day-to-day hospitality scenarios.
The second building features a more diversified setup, covering communal areas, relaxation spaces, meditation rooms, and a dedicated cinema zone. A consistent use of ALTI series loudspeakers ensures both visual uniformity and balanced sound performance throughout the building. While communal spaces support a wider range of applications such as background music, presentations, or events, the relaxation and meditation areas focus on delivering a calm and immersive atmosphere. In the cinema zone, enhanced output ensures an engaging audiovisual experience, while maintaining coherence with the overall system design.
The result is a cohesive and scalable AUDAC audio solution that enhances the social and functional dynamics of BaseCamp Student House. By combining intelligent matrix control, modular source integration, efficient amplification, and architecturally integrated loudspeakers, the installation transforms the residence into a vibrant, multi-functional living environment where sound actively contributes to the overall student experience.
