Which function needs to be occupied?
As Head Accountant at PVS, you are responsible for supervising and coordinating the accounting processes within the organization. You ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial administration and provide reports that support decision-making.
What does this role entail?
Your responsibilities:
- Hands-on management of operational accounting – You are responsible for organizing and overseeing operational accounting, ensuring the correct processing of transactions.
- Control and compliance – You ensure that all financial processes comply with legal regulations and collaborate closely with accountants and external partners.
- Preparation of financial reports – You prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings and analyze figures to provide valuable insights.
- Managing the accounting team – You coach and guide the accounting team (2 accounting executives) and encourage their development.
- Continuous improvement – You focus on the development of analytical accounting to provide better management information. Additionally, you optimize periodic accounting processes and ensure transparency within the team, working closely with the Accountancy Manager.
- Point of contact for external partners and affiliated companies – You act as the primary contact for the external accounting firm. Furthermore, you support affiliated companies within the PVS Group with accounting-related issues.

What skills and talents do you bring to PVS?
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Financial Administration, or a similar field (or proven experience in a similar position).
- At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in an accounting role.
- Extensive knowledge of Belgian accounting legislation and tax regulations.
- Experience in leading accountants – You have experience in managing and coaching colleagues, with a proven ability to motivate a team and achieve goals within deadlines.
- Proven experience in analytical accounting and financial reporting.
- Knowledge and experience with ERP systems and accounting software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve challenges in operational accounting.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- A proactive, solution-oriented, and hands-on mindset.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- The ability to perform under pressure and set priorities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English; French is a plus
